Yeah. We make a lot of jokes about different bands but really if you like a band or music keep on liking it. The reason so many different styles of music are out there is because we all have different tastes.

I remember Pearlman created NSYNC without telling BSB and tried to incite both bands against each other. Because scandals and beef is good for business. I’ve never watched those shows, in Germany there was this hugely succesful format called ”Popstars”. The No Angels girlgroup is legendary. Bro’Sis did alright for some time. Monrose was more successful than I had thought. There may be more because we had a ”Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, The Voice of Germany, X-Factor. For solo artists.

I never got into K-Pop. Not my cup of tea. I just went through a list, there were tons of semi or not-successful casting bands. On youtube premium I watched a documentary some years ago about BSB (and probably NSNC too) where they told the world that Lou Pearlman didn’t pay them. They were living large in a mansion and then after all their hits they got a lousy paycheck of like $20k each because of their lifestyle and that mansion.

I never got into the bands that came before my time. Like the mentioned NKOTB, Take That or East 17. The same goes for boybands/girlgroupds that came later like Big Time Rush or S Club 7 or 5 Directions. There are even more like Destiny’s Child and TLC could be put into that category. My favourite manufactured band has to be the Spice Girls. I was too late and didn’t have access to TV and music videos but I grew up with ”Goodbye” and ”Viva Forever”. I like 10 or so of their single releases.

Hello you two. I like music episodes. I grew up with the music of the late 90s and the early 2000s charts-and-radio-music. So I’m super familiar with all kinds of artificial artists like BSB, *NSYNC, Westlife, Britney, Christina and many more. I don’t listen to them too much but I still enjoy a couple of selected songs from that time. If a song is good, it is good. Even Westlife has two songs I unironically enjoy.
