https://www.glossyfied.com/what-happened-to-mariah-careys-voice/ Mariah Carey def HAD an amazing voice but due to several reasons, she is not able to sing that good today, if good at all. Same goes for Celine Dion. While a great diva voice is impressive, it can hurt a singers voice. To be honest here: I’m not into this ”diva” kind of singing. Great voices, no doubt, but musically not really my taste (exceptions apply). I prefer Astrud Gilberto over Mariah, Celine, Whitney, Christina. Shocking!

That’s our consensus as well. That any dispute between the two was played up for the media. It was a fun podcast to record. And we learned a bit about each of them.

In the 90s, their was this Battle of Britpop feud between Blur and Oasis. It was mostly media made. It was perfect and the -sorry- idiot fans were buying their record just to show the other party that their band was better. Ridiculous - but it totally worked for a moment at least. In Hip Hop there’s also this beef between rappers, perfect to get attention and to sell records. I personally think Britney and Christina didn’t hate each other. They just knew what they had to say to get attention.

I think the whole Britney vs. Christina fight is as fake as early Britney Spears songs (cos they are computer music with lyrics not written by the artist himself but a Swede named Max Martin who thought that ”hit me baby one more time” and ”I want it that way” were authentic English phrases^^. The media and the averaday people 💗 good drama. Britney vs. Christina. Linkin Park vs. Limp Bizkit or whatever ”rivalry” their is.
