I remember ”Kiss Me” because it was a chart hit back then because of that movie connection. I didn’t want to be mean but these teen stars seem to have certain voices that appeal to teens but sound painful to adults. Seems it’s just a gimmick to get attention. Hope you guys do more music centered episodes. Stay hydrated and have a great Summer! 🤗

Thanks you guys, that’s awesome. I rarely talk music, because I got my own taste, which in total doesn’t make any sense since I like stuff that doesn’t fit together. Music is also something private, I won’t walk around admitting that I like certain pop ballads or boy bands. I think high pitched vocals like Scooter used in their tracks could be considered cheesey. Scooter in general because the dude is shouting nonsensical phrases over melodies from old songs and sometimes smurf vocals. :-)

First off, respect for admitting to some Bolton and Titanic-era Celine. We see you walking that fine line between power ballad and personal dignity. No shame in selective cheese! “Blue (da ba dee)” may be considered cheesy, but honestly, it’s the kind of cheese that belongs on a fancy Euro dance platter. Jamie’s son loved it when he was 6 as much as Jamie loved it when he was 20. And “Earth Song”? That’s not cheesy, that’s drama. That’s Michael Jackson unleashing the full power of wind machines and eco-angst. Also, “Save the Best for Last” is a beautiful slow-dance-in-the-living-room-alone kind of tune, and we love you for bringing it up. Thanks for the comment! We’re proud to be in this delightful musical gray zone with you!

Thank you for the international pop analysis. We feel like we just audited a fun, musical sociology class we actually wanted to attend! Totally agree: “All That She Wants” is like that one friend who keeps showing up at parties uninvited but still brings good snacks, so you can’t be mad. As for “Achy Breaky Heart,” yes, it’s America’s gift to the world... and possibly a prank. We’re thrilled you remembered “Kiss Me”. That song’s like a warm hoodie from 1999 that somehow still fits. And “C’est La Vie”? Absolute candy. It sticks in your brain like glitter sticks to a carpet. Also, we now can’t un-hear “nasal, quacky, pinched vocals,” which sounds like either a vocal critique or an exotic bird species. Either way, brilliant. Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts! Your pal, Milo & Jamie

Michael Bolton, yeah, seems to be embarrassing. I like some selected Celine Dion songs, including the Titanic song. Hard to tell which songs I would consider embarrassing. I listen to a lot of 90s EDM but not the cheesy stuff. I like some BSB and NSYNC stuff from the 90s, some consider the cult classic ”Blue (da be dee)” cheesy. Maybe ”Earth Song” by Michael Jackson? ”Save the best for last” by Vanessa Williams.

Hi you guys ”All that she wants” is a classic. Gets played (too) often, I see no reason to not enjoy it. Was a German #1. ”Achy Breaky Heart” is Country, a genre unfamiliar in Europe. In general mainstream country is very streamlined. ”Kiss Me” is great. Remember it. Well produced, nice vibe. Very pleasant to listen to. C’est la vie” is super catchy, I even remembered it after not hearing it forever. Some boygirlbandsingers have nasal, quacky, pinched vocals, like I think Britney, A*Teens.
